Tena, you were the very embodiment of grace and God’s unwavering love. Life didn’t deal you the easiest hand, but your faith never faltered. Even in your own pain, you continued to shine His light and share His word. You showed up for everyone with strength and compassion, never letting the world see you break.

Since you passed, I’ve been carrying so much anger, and I know that’s selfish. Because if anyone deserved a long, joyful, and healthy life, it was you! I’ll miss our talks, our laughter, our inside jokes. I’ll miss your radiant smile and the comfort of your presence. Nothing can ever fill the space you leave behind. Life threw the hardest curveball with this one.
I love you forever, girlfriend. Until we meet again.
My deepest prayers and love go out to your family. May they feel God's comfort, peace, and strength during this unimaginable time.

In Honor of Tena: Take Charge of Your Health
Please take a moment to check in with yourself. Early detection can save lives. Here are a few helpful tips for performing a breast self-exam:
Look: Stand in front of a mirror with your shoulders straight and your hands on your hips. Look for any changes in size, shape, or skin texture, such as dimpling or puckering.
Raise your arms: Look again for any visible changes, and check for fluid (watery, milky, or yellow discharge or blood) coming out of one or both nipples.
Feel while standing or in the shower: Use the pads of your fingers to move around your entire breast in a circular pattern from the outside to the center, checking the whole breast and armpit area.
Feel while lying down: Place a pillow under your shoulder and your arm behind your head. Use the opposite hand to feel your breast with light, medium, and firm pressure.
